VALVES FOR ACID PLANT
Project involved the re-building of an Acid Plant, which included the requirement for an ATEX certified high pressure 18″ DN 600 steam jacketed valve, required to replace the existing failing units.
Supply & Install:
- Exceeding Expectations – Time Line International designed the valve to be dismantled even if the medium is solid, thereby allowing for the replacement of seals/shafts and other components.
- Tested & Certified – We ensured the valves were PED and ATEX compliant complete with third party inspection and certification.
- Delivered prompt – From the initial enquiry through to delivery on site for installation by our representative, the process took 6 weeks – over half the time of our nearest competitor!
Vale Engineer Response
The original valves were installed 3 years ago, but due to the design it was impossible to service the valves as they had to be heated to prevent the Sulphur solidifying. During a scheduled maintenance inspection the valves were found to be faulty and later found to be beyond economic repair. Time Line were able to propose three options to meet the PED and ATEX compliance, whilst their bespoke design allowed for the valves to be fully stripped even with the Sulphur cooled and solid to prevent the maintenance issue in the future. With Time Line giving us such a quick response design, manufacture and installation occurred during annual shut down period.
